Provides ministry through the distribution of clothes to the church and community at the Agape House.

Bereavement Choir

Contact:

The Bereavement choir sings for all funeral and memorial services at the church.

Courtesy Ministry

Contact:

Provides safety and assistance at both the Hull Street and Ironbridge locations for all ministry meetings and events. 

Daily Bread

Contact:

Distributes food to the community every first and third Saturdays, 10AM -12 noon. Works through FeedMore for food purchase. Opportunities available for drivers, in-take, distribution and record keeping volunteers. The ministry meets as needed.

Doorkeepers Ministry

Contacts:

he Doorkeeper Ministry of First Baptist Church graces the sanctuary every Sunday morning to greet and welcome God’s people into the House of the Lord. Ministry volunteers serve each Sunday as part of a combined volunteer pool. Ministry volunteers sign-up online and are responsible for welcoming and seating worshipers each Sunday at the 9:15AM service, Iron Bridge; and the 11:30AM service at Hull Street. Ministry volunteers sign up to serve on the Sunday(s) that works best with their schedule.

Greeters

Contact:

The Greeters Ministry serves as the welcoming arm of the church greeting worshipers and assisting at all worship services, funerals and special ministry events. Volunteers are the “first face” of our congregation. This ministry requires a joyful, helpful and welcoming spirit.

Health & Wellness Ministry

Contact:

Provides opportunities for members to create healthy lifestyles through exercise, diet and special fairs/forums. The ministry sponsors exercise classes at the Hull Street location on Mondays and Wednesdays each week at 6:00PM at the Hull Street location.

Medical Ministry

Contacts:

Provides emergency medical care to congregation during worship services. Medical experience is required to check vitals and communicate with emergency personnel.

Men’s Bible Study

Contact:

A special study designed especially for the spiritual growth and development of men. Meets Thursdays, 6:30PM, Ironbridge. The Men’s Ministry also holds a special prayer opportunity each second Saturday morning, 8:00AM, Golden Corral, 11 S. Providence Street, Chesterfield, Virginia.

Men’s Ministry

Contact:

The Men of First Baptist Men’s Ministry meets each Thursday, virtually. The Ministry is designed to strengthen and develop men spiritually. The Men’s Ministry provides leadership in several ministry areas: security, special projects, logistics and mentoring to youth.

IMANI Singers

Contact:

Specialized singing group that ministers through music as assigned for Sunday Services and other ministry occasions. This group is assigned by Music Ministry leadership.

Male Chorus

Contact:

The Male Chorus serves as part of the Music Ministry and sing on assigned Sundays. The Male Chorus meets as scheduled by the Minister of Music at the Hull Street Location.

Combined Choir

Contact:

The Combined Choir serves as the primary choir and serves the congregation on Sundays as assigned, Sacred Hour services on the first Sunday of each month and for other special services. The choir rehearses on Thursdays at 6:00PM, Ironbridge Campus, Music Suite.

Music Ministry

Contact:

Combined Choir serves as the primary choir and serves Sundays as assigned, and for special services. The Youth and Twilight Chorus serves every other month on the third Sunday. Other special choirs serve as requested: Male Choir, Women’s Choir, Contemporary choir. The combined choir rehearses on Thursdays at 6:00PM, Ironbridge Campus, Music Suite.

Media Ministry

Contact:

The media ministry provides serves as the audio/visual support for the church. The ministry seeks to provide a positive light through multi-media, audio and video recording, camera operation, editing, tape duplication and creative design. Our purpose is to capture all ministry events and activities through modern technology.

Social Media And Technology Ministry

Contact:

Provides support for the internet, Constant Contact Facebook and Twitter as well as updates for internal monitors. Training is provided. Volunteers must be gifted in technology or have the ability to learn technological tools quickly.

Parking Ministry

Contact:

Provides parking assistance at both the Hull Street and Ironbridge locations.

Pastoral Relations Ministry

Contact:

Provides for the ministry needs and care of the Pastors and special guests.

Security Ministry

Contact:

Provides security for the staff and members during all worship services. Men and women are welcome to serve in this ministry assignment.

The Shawl Ministry

Contact:

Provides handmade shawls to those impacted by illness, homelessness, domestic violence and grief. The ministry meets on the fourth Saturday of every month, except July and August.

The Throne Room Prayer Ministry

Contact:

he Throne Room is the intercessory prayer ministry for the Church. Its mission is to empower disciples to release the full potential and power of prayer by offering prayers of intercession on behalf of the church and the community.

Transportation

Contact:

Provides van/bus transportation to on Sunday mornings and other ministry services as needed. A good driving record is required as well as strong people skills.

Volunteer Corps

Contact:

The Volunteer Corps is the hospitality ministry of the church serving as the Front Desk Receptionist during weekday office hours, Monday – Friday; Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Women’s Bible Study – It’s A Sistah Thing Circle

Contact:

Meets on the second Saturday of each month, 8:45AM, Virtually or at the Hull Street Campus. The Sistah Thing Circle gathers each month to fellowship, network and most importantly to study topics unique to women.

Women’s Ministry – It’s A Sistah Thing

Contact:

The Women’s Ministry is designed to empower, encourage and develop spiritual, social and emotional soundness in women. The ministry meets every second Saturday following the It’s A Sistah Thing Circle.

Young Adult Ministry Ignite

Contact:

The Ignite Young Adult Ministry serves to provide an environment for young adults, age 19-40, to interact with other young adult Christians through fellowship, outreach ministry, Bible studies and worship services. Its purpose is to build, uplift, encourage and empower the young adult community. Young Adult Bible Study is held on the 4th Wednesday, 6:30PM, Hull Street.
